Formed in Buffalo, New York, in 1986, the Goo Goo Dolls grew from punk and alternative beginnings into one of pop rock's best-known bands. Fronted by John Rzeznik and Robby Takac, the group broke through with Dizzy Up the Girl (1998), featuring enduring songs including “Iris,” “Slide,” and “Black Balloon.” Later releases include Chaos in Bloom (2022), while earlier favorites such as “Name” and “Here Is Gone” add depth to the band's catalog.

The group's emotionally direct songwriting and guitar-driven arrangements have helped sustain a career spanning more than three decades. “Iris,” closely associated with the film City of Angels, remains a defining song and a familiar audience singalong. The Boston appearance is part of the event's multi-artist lineup; no specific Goo Goo Dolls tour name or setlist has been confirmed for this date. Def Leppard and The Struts are also billed, with set order and performance times subject to event updates.
